Barcelona. November. 5 days. Me, the lovely Ali and this wonderful city. And food.

I can't get enough of you! Seriously, I just can't! Barcelona is one of the cities I would never get tired of. It doesn't matter whether it's spring, summer, autumn or even winter, this city is always worth a stay.

This time I was visiting my dear friend Alina, who is privileged to spend her semester abroad in Barcelona. Obviously I am jealous. So this time, instead of visiting all the places I have been going to during my semester abroad, I trusted her when it came to choosing restaurants and we tried out some new places as well.

You can have a look on the first and more extensive Travel Guide, here.

Breakfast/Brunch:

Granja Petit Bo: Cosy restaurant/cafe in Eixample, serving Eggs Benedict, pancakes and salads throughout the week. On weekends there is a special brunch menu.
Price Range: 7-15€, 12€ for Eggs Benny with a side salad and potatoes.
Good to Know: My favorite was the Eggs Benedict with salmon.
Adress: Passeig de Sant Joan, 82,08009 Barcelona

Dinner:

La Pubilla: Traditional Catalan restaurant serving, local, seasonal, delicious dishes! The waiters are super, friendly, very attentive and willing to help you with anything. The atmosphere is pleasant and casual, but food is taken very seriously.
Price Range: Lunch: 14€ for a menu; Dinner: 20-30€ with wine.
Good to Know: 1. Make a reservation at least one day in advance 2. I had the "veal stew", which sounds far more boring than it was. The soft and tender pieces of veal were served on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes with a bunch of aromatic mushrooms. Go for this! 3. If they have it, try the braised duck on poached quince or pear as a starter..heaven in your mouth! 4. I was just slightly disappointed by the dessert, because compared to the other dishes it was a bit simple.
Adress: Plaça de la Llibertat, 23, 08012 Barcelona

Red Ant: Japanese restaurant, serving Ramen, pan fried noodles, buns and other specialties. Authentic atmosphere, especially when you sit at the bar and can have a glimpse into the kitchen. Price Range: 7-9€ for a dish
Good to Know: 1. Make a reservation on the weekend, otherwise there are long waiting times. 2. Try the pork belly bun, it's delicious. 3. The restaurant belongs to Mosquito, which is right around the corner and is a nice spot, too. 4. Try one of their mochis as dessert.

Saboc: Very nice and stylish Tapas restaurant that looks more expensive from outside, than it is. The small dishes (with a little twist ) on the menu are organized according to the Degree size they are cooked at. Which can range from raw (20°C) until 200°C. Nice and attentive waiters.
Price Range: 15-20€, dishes are 7-10€ Good to Know: 1. The small dishes are perfect for sharing, we had four 2. I loved the smoked squid as well as the cod ceviche.

Nomad: Hipsterish coffee place with great coffee. We chose an espresso base from the three on the board and ordered them as a flat white. Was perfect!
Price Range: 2€ for a flat white - that's unbeatable!

El MagnificoAlso a good coffee place, more traditional and you can buy plenty of roasts to take home. Loved the cafe con leche with the little on the side.

Croq & Roll: A quite new restaurant serving mainly Spanish croquetas with many different fillings. My fav's were pork marinated in beer and chestnut & sweet potato. Its quite a big restaurant so don't worry about seating.
Price Range: 1,20€ per croquette.
Good to Know: 1. Their fillings change every week 2. They also serve quiches and other small dishes.

Good to Know: Try the drier Manchego, lying right at the counter. So good.
Calle de Santa Maria, 4, 08003 Barcelona

Cafe del Sol: Last but no least, a cafe I like to visit every time I am in Barcelona, even though it appears to be a bit touristy. But their patatas bravas and the spot itself is perfect to enjoy the Barcelonian sun.
Price Range: 2-6€
Good to Know: Have a Clara (beer with lemonade) and some patatas bravas and your afternoon will be perfect.
