I kind of discovered my weakness for Ethiopian food during my semester abroad in Barcelona, where I used to dine at 'Abissina', a lovely restaurant in the district of Gracia (a post may follow - we'll see!). When I looked for several restaurants in New York, price wise reasonable and as authentic as possible, I found 'Ghenet' in Brooklyn and decided to give it a try. For some Manhattaners getting to this place may seem as an entire world trip, but if you want to enjoy some Ethiopian food you should take that challenge ;).

The way food is presented may not seem that appealing to some, but I promise it is delicious!

Behind that two slightly insulting words, hides a great (maybe a bit hippster-ish) restaurant with loads of tender and juicy meat in the middle of Williamsburg.

Mac and Cheese, a MUST-try when you visit the US. Basically loaded with calories, containing macaroni pasta and a lot of cheeeeese. The basic version of that you can buy at any supermarket, which is really just a mix of macaroni and cheddar cheese to which you add boiled water..Et violà, there is your cliche American dinner.

Sunday = lazyday. Brunch on a Sunday noon is one of the best things I can imagine. Probably the best place for having brunch is Berlin with its buffets, where you can’t decide what to pick and in the end you basically end up trying everything. Here in NYC (and maybe the US?!) it is slightly different.
